About us

DACARE is a new family business based on the Central Coast - NSW. The name DACARE was created by taking the first two letters of my three children's name. DAllas - CAtherine and REbecca.

I have been interested in Natural Therapies and alternate healing methods for many years and have continued to study while working a full time job and traveling a minimum of four hours everyday to get to that job. After ten years I decided I'd had enough and set out to pursue my dream. It was a bit risky at 60 but I wanted more time with my family and to do the things I wanted to do and not someone else.

By doing this I also created an interest for my youngest daughter, Rebecca, who at 26 was at loose ends not knowing what direction to take in life. She has become very interested in the Aromatherapy side of the business and will be doing more training in this field. Rebecca has just completed a business course and is very excited about learning how to make the products and how to market them.

My eldest daughter Catherine, originally helped me out but she moved on to pursue a full time career as a social worker supporting people with disabilities. She has her hands full juggling a full time career and raising her 6 year old son, Cameron.

My son Dallas, who is a qualified pilot, is married to Riza and they have two beautiful children, Jeremy and Larissa. Besides his fun hobby of flying, Dallas is busy working a full time job and maintaining their happy home. He's a keen gardener like me.

We have created a beautiful range of top quality handmade soaps and skincare products. Our handmade soaps are made from all vegetable oils (palm oil, olive oil, coconut oil, caster oil, rice bran oil, etc). The natural glycerin content in our handmade soaps is very high. During saponification (the process by which the vegetable fats and the alkali base chemically combine to form "soap"), a by-product called glycerin is formed. This glycerin is so valuable as a skin care product that commercial soap makers skim the glycerin from their soap and market it as a by-product.

We have just introduced our new anti-Ageing products with Sea Buckthorn and Evening Primrose oil which I'm sure you will love!!
